Voices of Care Take Center Stage
There are many ways to care and many ways to talk about care. Through a video or a photograph, in workshops or the media, in person or on social media using a hashtag. What matters is finding a way to tell these stories and helping ensure that care, the experiences of those who provide and receive it, and the realities that shape it are given the visibility and space they deserve.
That is the purpose of the #VoicesOfCare campaign: to put conversation at the centre and give a platform to the people and communities who experience care firsthand and work every day to transform it.
In its 2025 edition, the Global Alliance for Care amplified the experiences, knowledge and proposals of those who provide and receive care and support. It strengthened voices and networks to advance an integrated care agenda shaped by everyone working to bring care into public policy, human rights, research, journalism, activism and community action. To achieve this, the campaign brought together a range of initiatives and formats.
The 24-Hour Care Channel, launched in the previous edition, offered audiovisual content throughout the day, broadcasting events, discussions and stories. The Collective Agenda of activities for that year brought together 36 new initiatives: 25 events, 5 campaigns and 6 publications, making it easier to discover these initiatives and take part in the global mobilisation. In addition, the Voices of Care campaign brought together podcasts and videos featuring interviews with experts, policymakers, community leaders, activists, caregivers and people receiving care and support. Through their testimonies, the initiative explored what it means to care and to be cared for.
The mobilisation also included a collaborative video and a photo collage, a social media campaign featuring a range of freely available visual materials, and a website dedicated to the International Day.
Regardless of the year in which this Day is commemorated, the Global Alliance for Care invites you to join the conversation, because making care visible also means creating the spaces needed to listen to one another and build connections.
