Community caregivers often carry out a triple care burden: in their own homes, as domestic workers, and within their neighbourhoods. This care work, historically performed by women as a result of the gendered division of labour, remains unrecognised and unpaid by the state. Making this work visible and recognising its value is therefore essential to building more equitable societies.
